Our custom line is where the choices stop being a catalogue and start being a conversation. The only real limits are your budget and our combined imaginations.

What custom actually means here

Framed cabinets in the traditional American way, or frameless in the European style, in oak, cherry, maple, hickory and other available woods. There are hundreds of door styles to work from, with thousands of detail combinations, in any colour you care to dream up.

The inside matters as much as the face. We pair cutting-edge fabrication with old-fashioned joinery, so drawers and carcases are built to be looked at, not just closed. If a drawer looks like oak, it is oak. We do not skimp there, and we will always specify the best materials and hardware your budget can bear, because that is what saves you doing the kitchen a second time.

Everything is built, stained and finished locally in Western Massachusetts, which is how it gets done right the first time.

What kind of cabinets do you make?

All three kinds. Full custom cabinets give you unlimited choice of material, design, colour and finish, framed in the traditional way or frameless in the European style, in woods like oak, cherry, maple and hickory. Our semi-custom line works to set door styles and sizes with unlimited colours. We also run stock programs when the budget is the deciding factor.

What countertops can I have?

DuPont Corian, natural granites, and laminates by Wilsonart and Formica. We will talk through how each one wears, what it costs, and how it sits with the doors and the floor you have chosen, rather than pushing you toward one material.

Where are the cabinets actually built?

Here. Everything we make is built, stained and finished locally in Western Massachusetts, which is how we keep control of the quality and get it right the first time. Kitchen-Works is staffed entirely by cabinetmakers, so the people who build your kitchen are the people who fit it.

Do you work on anything besides kitchens?

Yes. The same cabinetry carries through to dining rooms and the rest of the house, and over the past twenty years we have built museum-quality furniture, entertainment centres, desks and hutches, computer stations, bank counters and multiple-unit ATM surrounds.

Can you help if I am doing the work myself?

That is what we call Do It Yourself Insurance. If you get puzzled or stymied part way through, you can retain us on a flat fee to help in whatever capacity is needed, as a design consultant, a technical assistant, or a second pair of hands. You decide how involved we get.
