Built-Ins & Home Cabinetry

The theme does not have to stop at the kitchen door.

Painted built-in bookcases with arched tops and fluted pilasters

From the warmth of Victorian oak and brass to the minimalism of Euro-style, we can carry a kitchen through into the rest of the house.

Beyond the kitchen

Dining rooms, libraries, alcoves and awkward walls. We build in bookcases, dressers, window seats and storage that reads as part of the architecture rather than furniture pushed against it.

We work in wood and laminate, ceramic tile, stainless steel, even space-age composites, so the material can follow the room instead of the room following the material.

One customer brought us a page from a magazine and asked for the cabinetry in the photograph. We used it as the guide and built it in for them.

1

Carry the theme through

Dining rooms, libraries and living spaces finished so they read as part of the house rather than furniture pushed against a wall.

2

Any period

From Victorian oak and brass through to avant-garde Euro-style minimalism, interpreted and built rather than approximated.

3

Wide material range

Wood, laminate, ceramic tile, stainless steel and composites, so the material follows the room.

How we work for you

We make kitchen renovation simple, transparent, and stress-free from the first consultation to the final walkthrough.

STEP 01

Bring Us Your Ideas

A sketch on a napkin, blueprints from your architect, a page torn out of a magazine. Any of it gets your idea into our shop.

STEP 02

Design & Estimate

We measure the room, plan the space, and work through door styles, woods and counters until the design fits both the kitchen and the budget.

STEP 03

Built In Our Shop

Your cabinets are made to order and then stained and finished locally, so nothing arrives on site as a surprise.

STEP 04

Fitted By The Makers

The cabinetmakers who built the work install it, and we stay available afterwards, whether that is next week or next year.

Why people call us back

A kitchen is not just another room. It is the heart of the house and the place a family actually lives, so we do not stop until the result is right.

Three Ways To Buy

Full custom, semi-custom and stock programs, so the cabinets are matched to your budget instead of the other way round.

You Deal With An Owner

No second-string crew sent out by a factory. You work directly with a principal who has a stake in how the job turns out.

We Stay Available

If you are our customer, we are there when you need us, whether that is tomorrow, next week or next month.

Question? Answered

The things people usually want to know before they pick up the phone.

All three kinds. Full custom cabinets give you unlimited choice of material, design, colour and finish, framed in the traditional way or frameless in the European style, in woods like oak, cherry, maple and hickory. Our semi-custom line works to set door styles and sizes with unlimited colours. We also run stock programs when the budget is the deciding factor.

DuPont Corian, natural granites, and laminates by Wilsonart and Formica. We will talk through how each one wears, what it costs, and how it sits with the doors and the floor you have chosen, rather than pushing you toward one material.

Here. Everything we make is built, stained and finished locally in Western Massachusetts, which is how we keep control of the quality and get it right the first time. Kitchen-Works is staffed entirely by cabinetmakers, so the people who build your kitchen are the people who fit it.

Yes. The same cabinetry carries through to dining rooms and the rest of the house, and over the past twenty years we have built museum-quality furniture, entertainment centres, desks and hutches, computer stations, bank counters and multiple-unit ATM surrounds.

That is what we call Do It Yourself Insurance. If you get puzzled or stymied part way through, you can retain us on a flat fee to help in whatever capacity is needed, as a design consultant, a technical assistant, or a second pair of hands. You decide how involved we get.

Call 413-589-1454 or email ron@kitchen-works.com and we will arrange an appointment. Bring whatever you have: a rough sketch, an architect’s blueprints, photographs, or a page out of a magazine. We are happy to show you a portfolio of recent projects and to put you in touch with past clients.
